Join Kastles at SETLC Heart to Hart Tennis Experience

Join DC Mayor Vincent Gray, former Mayors Anthony Williams and Marion Barry, other city leaders and Washington Kastles Owner Mark Ein this Saturday, October 27th from 8 am to 3 pm for the 14th Annual Heart to Hart Tennis Experience.

The unique event is being held at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center in Washington (701 Mississippi Ave SE) and will benefit the SETLC's educational and tennis programs.

Located in the heart of Ward 8's Washington Highlands neighborhood, the SETLC has combined academics, cultural enrichment, technology and tennis to inspire more than 2,000 young people since 2001.

Heart to Hart pairs adult and youth players in a fun-filled round robin tennis tournament. Each registrant will be teamed up with a talented young athlete from the SETLC's tennis program as the tournament bridges the generations through a shared love of the game.

Already confirmed for the tournament are tennis stars Richey Reneberg, Brian Vahaly and Daniel Waldman.

-- Reneberg was ranked as high as No. 20 in singles and No. 1 in doubles on the ATP World Tour, capturing the 1992 US Open and 1995 Australian Open men's doubles titles.

-- Vahaly peaked at No. 64 in singles and No. 94 in doubles on the ATP World Tour in 2003 after graduating from the University of Virginia as a three-year All-American.

-- Waldman has won two world championships in singles and three more in doubles since 2007 at Over 50 and Over 55 events on the ITF Seniors Circuit.

Heart to Hart will also feature tennis clinics, a silent auction and a celebrity match including media personalities, politicians and community leaders.

The cost to compete and sponsor one youth player is $125, including continental breakfast, a family-style fish fry lunch, a commemorative sweatshirt and other gift items. Adult spectators wishing to attend without participating can do so for $60, including lunch and a bag gift.

Children are welcome too! Supervised play and activities will be provided for kids ages 3-9, including face painting, arts and crafts, kid-friendly movies, popcorn and cotton candy.

Kastles' mascot Topspin will be on hand to entertain the kids, salute the adults and take part in a special ceremony honoring Ein and Williams.

Heart to Hart is a can't-miss event for tennis-lovers throughout the Mid-Atlantic. So grab your racquet and give back to the talented SETLC juniors by reserving your spot today!
